Context & Need
The client provides energy efficiency services to industries, managing 25 industrial sites in Italy and operating on a large territorial area. With the increasing reliance on digital technologies and internet connectivity, the client’s network became vulnerable to cyber threats. The need arose for an intelligent system to protect the network from cyber attacks and ensure the continuity of operations.
The Solution
Innovatech implemented a unified threat management system through a central console that monitors and controls all security appliances. The solution includes the installation of two clustered firewalls at each site, creating multiple security domains and separating the industrial part (SCADA – Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) from the office network. This approach enhances cybersecurity defense by spreading multiple layers of protection across computers, networks, programs, and data.
Key Features
- Unified threat management system
- Centralized monitoring and control
- Multiple security domains
- Separation of industrial and office networks
- Automated threat detection and response
Results & Measurable Impact
- Multi-layered cyberattack protection
- Effective defense against cyber attacks
- Improved performance and reduced downtime
- Enhanced user awareness and compliance with safety principles
- Standardization of devices and integration with existing infrastructure
Strategic Impact
The implementation of the unified threat management system has significantly improved the client’s cybersecurity posture, enabling them to protect their network and operations from cyber threats. The solution has also enhanced the client’s ability to respond to incidents and minimize the impact of potential breaches, ultimately ensuring the continuity of their business operations and maintaining the trust of their customers.
